What a selective feed filter does
Some distraction tools remove an entire social feed. Feed Shield takes a narrower approach: it keeps ordinary posts visible and hides only the content types you enable. Every visible filter is reversible from the toolbar popup.
Feed Shield changes page presentation only. It does not click, follow, join, leave, report, or delete anything.

Follow or Join posts
Hides feed posts whose author header carries a recognized Follow or Join action inside the Facebook Home feed.
Ads and Sponsored posts
Hides posts with the tested Facebook ad-disclosure link or an exact recognized Ad or Sponsored label.
Suggested people
Optionally hides recognized suggested-user sections as a whole, including their surrounding presentation.
Recommended groups
Optionally hides recognized group-recommendation sections while leaving ordinary group posts visible.
Why ordinary posts stay visible
Feed Shield uses bounded page structure and exact labels rather than a broad keyword search. A post is not hidden simply because its body says Follow, Join, Ad, Sponsored, or Suggested for you. This conservative boundary reduces the chance of hiding unrelated content.
Local counters, not tracking
The popup shows current-session and all-time hidden-post totals plus an estimated time saved. These counters stay in the current browser profile. Feed Shield does not transmit them, attach them to a Facebook account, or use analytics.
Facebook changes are an explicit limitation
Facebook can change its page structure, accessibility labels, link shapes, and pagination behavior. Feed Shield uses tested mappings and conservative matches, so an unsupported structure may remain visible until it can be verified and added safely.
